Curtis Huckaby Obituary, Death Cause – Jonesboro, Arkansas was the location of Curtis’ birth on October 15, 1983. His parents were Curt Huckaby and Jeanie Watts. He was the youngest of three children and attended both Jonesboro High School in Jonesboro, Arkansas and Hood River Valley High School in Hood River, Oregon. He was the youngest of the three. In 2008, Curtis earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Arkansas State University.

In 2010, he attended Columbia Gorge Community College and successfully completed the requirements for a certificate in Renewable Energy Technology. Curtis was a lifetime athlete, teammate, and sportsman who liked lacrosse, soccer, skiing, hunting, and spending time in the great outdoors in addition to playing rugby at the university level. He felt immense gratitude for the opportunity to exercise and be physically active in the outdoors, as well as for the beautiful scenery of the Hood River Valley and Mount Hood.

The schooling that Curtis received prepared him for a job in the regional aerospace sector. But the most important thing in Curtis’ life was being a devoted and loving father to his two children, Hugh and Madilyne (Madi), and taking pride in the fact that he was able to raise them along with their mother, Regan. Family was the most important thing in his life, and he enjoyed spending time with his brother Matt and sister Ashley, as well as spending time with and playing with his nieces and nephews.

He was frequently discovered in the backyard of his parents’ home, conversing quietly with his mother. If you asked Madi to describe their father, she would reply that “he loved everybody and was the nicest, most caring man.” Hugh’s father, as Hugh recalls him, was “very sporty,” a person who put everyone and everything before himself, and “handsome,” which is a description that is unanimously agreed upon by everyone who knew him.

It was clear that Curtis enjoyed spending time with his children and seeing them compete in minor sports because of his involvement as a coach and supporter of Hugh’s lacrosse teams and Madi’s softball teams, respectively. On any given day, you might find him coaching aspiring lacrosse players or hurling a pitch to the youngsters. Curtis was exceptionally generous, and he possessed an intangible power that left an impression on everyone he came in contact with.

Everyone, from close family and friends to colleagues and casual acquaintances, had a unique sense of connectedness. The community will never forget the impact that his love had on it. Hugh Carter and Madilyne Louise are Curtis’s children, and they will carry on his legacy. He is also survived by his parents, Jeanie and Brian Watts, and Vickie Huckaby; his brother, Matthew (and his wife Rachel); his sister, Ashley; step-brothers Eric and Deric (and their wives Sammy); two nephews, Dan and Max, both twelve years old; and three nieces, Miles, nine, and three years old. His father, Curt, passed away before him and is buried next to him.
