Daniel John Ford Padilla, popularly known as Daniel Padilla, is a Filipino actor and recording artist. He is a talent of ABS-CBN and Star Magic, and currently stars as Gino in the primetime Filipino drama Princess And I.

He hails from one of the most popular clans of Philippine showbiz, being the son of actor Rommel Padilla and actress Karla Ford (more known as Karla Estrada). Because of his strong resemblance to his uncle Robin Padilla who became famous for his “bad boy” image, he is often tagged with the same image.

He Has a band called “Parking 5” with his brother Jose Carlito “JC” Padilla the Vocalist, and his best friends Katsumi Kabe the Rhythm Guitarist, Lester Giri the Drummer and Seth Gothico the Lead guitarist and he is the bassist of Parking 5 that started in 2010.He likes playing basketball,Skateboard and Playing music with his band.Their band Play Rock Songs.

Padilla’s first acting stint was in 2010 when he starred in a minor role in Gimik 2010, a remake of the hit 90’s Filipino youth-oriented show. His character Daniel Ledesma was paired to teen actress Julia Montes.

Growing Up, another youth-oriented show by ABS-CBN, was considered to be Padilla’s big break. He reportedly replaced his real life best friend Albie Casiño who was originally given the role as Kathryn’s leading man in Mara Clara.

Kathryn Bernardo doesn’t want Daniel Padilla as leading man for Julia Barretto

MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo does not see Julia Barretto as a suitable leading lady for on- and off-screen partner Daniel Padilla.

In last week’s episode of “Tonight With Boy Abunda,” Kathryn told Abunda, the show’s host, why she feels Daniel and Julia do not look good together.

“Feeling ko too young. Parang masyado nang bata for DJ, kasi ngayon, medyo pa-lolo na siya eh,” Kathryn said.

Kathryn was in the show to promote her first movie with Kapuso star Alden Richards, “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” to be showing in cinemas starting Wednesday (July 31).

During the movie’s recent press conference, Kathryn shared what really happened behind the viral video showing Daniel surprising her in Hong Kong.
Kathryn also narrated how she coped without having a mobile phone and a means to communicate with Daniel for about a month, when the movie’s director, Cathy Garcia-Molina, confiscated her phone to make her feel the pain needed to more effectively portray her character in the film.
