Laney, as she was known by many, lived her life to the fullest, and accomplished more in her short time on earth, than most do in a full lifetime.”

Laney Chantal’s real name is Alaina Chantal Parkhurst, and she served as the lead makeup artist for Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” which won Video of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards 2021.

Alaina grew up in Manitou Beach with her parents, two older sisters, and other family members. She participated in basketball, soccer, and 4-H with Lenawee County while attending elementary and junior high school at Saint Josephs Academy. She obtained her high school diploma from Hudson in 2007.

The majority of Alaina’s teenage years were spent skateboarding, attending concerts, and hanging out by the lakes with her friends. After graduating from high school, Alaina moved to Los Angeles, California.

In 2008, she enrolled in Cinema Makeup School, from which she earned a certificate that will help her succeed as a makeup artist for special effects. Alaina gave everything she had, body, mind, and soul, no matter how big or small the task. Her artistic talent and vision helped her stand out among other artists in her field quickly.

Laney, as she was affectionately known by many, accomplished more in her brief time on earth than most people do in a lifetime. She took part in the SY/FY networks’ makeup competition FaceOff and worked as the lead makeup artist for the Video of the Year at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards.
