Scott Adams is an American cartoonist and a prolific writer born June 8, 1959 in Windham, New York, United States of America. He was given the full name Scott Raymond Adams at birth and his parents were Paul and Virginia Adams. At a very young age, Scott developed a passion for comics and began drawing his personal comics at the age of six. He continued to master his passion until the age of eleven, he entered a drawing contest and won.

He had his early education at Windham-Ashland-Jewett Central School, where he obtained his highest degree in 1975, before continuing his studies in economics at Hartwick College, then in 1979. California, Berkeley where he obtained an MBA in 1986.

A well-trained economist, Scott began working at Crocker National Bank in San Francisco as a bank teller. He was robbed twice in the space of four months as a bank teller. Over the years at the bank, Scott Adams has also held various positions as budget analyst, programmer, commercial lender, production manager and supervisor. He also reportedly worked for Pacific Bells in 1986, where he held numerous finance and technology jobs until 1995.
